Of Mettle and Medication
The earthquake of 2015 and the unofficial blockade later was double trouble for Nepal. The nation was caught underprepared to tackle emergency response and strategies for long-term relief. The civil society and several youth groups alongside individuals had spurred into action to provide immediate relief possible saving countless lives that otherwise would have perished in waiting. It takes grit and immense will to do what Sumana Shrestha did during those times. This is as much her story as of the team she has motivated since to evolve into what is today Medication for Nepal, a platform that is making a huge impact in the healthcare system of the country.
Then working for the elite Boston Consulting Group and based out of Washington D.C., Sumana connected with friends in Nepal and realized that she could immediately help unfolding youth-led relief operations with fundraising from abroad.
